One of the most challenging aspects of nutrition is learning what healthy food really is. Deceptive marketing and advertizing misleads consumers on the actual health benefits of processed food. Many foods today contain harmful additives, antibiotics, or pesticides, or are nutrient-poor. It can be very confusing when trying to choose a healthier diet for you and your family. Fortunately just making a few changes can have a huge impact on your health and the way you feel. A whole foods, plant-based diet WFPB* is a diet that prioritizes eating whole or unprocessed plant foods, minimizes meats, fish, dairy products, and eggs, and eliminates highly processed foods and fats. “Ditch the box” is my first advice to clients.
